Local Kabuki is performed in the nature-rich Sokawa-cho town and is surrounded by amazing mountains.The Shokawa jikabuki is held once a year on the eve of the annual festival. The traditional Kabuki play of the village, which once disappeared, was revived and is now called “Taishu engeki” popular drama. Please watch the sword dance by the young people living here!
The local Kabuki that is shown in the Hida Shokawa, is also available to the public.
The stage is the shrine with an altitude of about 1000m. “Shokawa jikabuki” is the culture inherited by the whole community where “Shokawa-cho”town brings together actors and the audience with ad-lib, happenings, and warm hecklers.
